In a perfect world that is slightly technologically advanced and wise than we are now, I will have iPad3 running Ubuntu 11 or Transformer Prime hardware on a tablet that is running Windows 7.
For those hardware and software to be together, I really have to say, the tech companies and manufacturers have to really be wise and overcome many differences and come to an understanding to create a unified operating system that people will really use and not just release something that will milk people of their cash.
Linux has many great free games and most of these games are implementations of many great board games. Pioneers, for example, is a good implementation of the boardgame, Settlers of Catan.
On the windows side, until Windows 8 is confirmed to be compatible with many old games, I will just be happy with 7. With windows 7, I can run the DosBox emulator and run classic games like Heroes of Might and Magic 3 or MissionForce: CyberStorm among a great list of board games to pc version games.
